For centuries, chefs have sworn by the power of binchotan charcoal to unleash the full flavor potential of their dishes, and now you can too! This isn’t your average charcoal – this is the stuff that will take your BBQ game to the next level. Crafted from sustainably harvested eucalyptus wood, using traditional Japanese methods to create a dense, pure fuel that burns hotter and longer than ordinary charcoal. It boasts a carbon content of over 95% and an average burn time of up to 4 hours.
And when we say this charcoal burns hot, we mean it – the charcoal bed can reach temperatures of up to 1000°C. With no chemicals added during the traditional production process, you can say goodbye to smoke and spatter and hello to pure, mouth-watering flavor. And with less than 2% ash left over, cleanup is a breeze too.
Use a gas burner, electric firestarter or chimney to light the charcoal for about 20 min until it's glowing red. You can also stack it on top of an already burning bed of softer charcoal until the binchotan heats up to its full potential.
When you're done grilling, extinguish the charcoal by cutting off its oxygen supply or put in water and let it dry. You can then use the same charcoal again for your next grilling session and it will burn for a few more hours.
